Susie Hargreaves OBE

Susie joined the Internet Watch Foundation in September 2011 as Chief Executive. She has worked in the charity sector for more than 30 years in a range of senior positions. Susie is an experienced presenter and conference chair at events around the globe. As the lead spokesperson for the IWF, she regularly appears in the national media and on TV.

Susie sits on a number of boards and groups:

• Member of the National Crime Agency (NCA) Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Command Strategic Governance Group;
• Member of Crown Prosecution Service Child Sexual Abuse Stakeholder Forum;
• Member of the Together to #ENDviolence Leaders’ Group;
• An Executive Board member of the UK Council for Internet Safety (UKCIS);
• A Steering Group Member of the WePROTECT Global Threat Assessment;
• An advisory board member of the International Justice Mission;
• A member of the World Economic Forum Advisory Group on Online Safety.
• She is also a member of the External Reference Group for Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMRICFS) Online CSAE inspection.
• Susie represented the IWF as a Core Participant on the internet part of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA). She was a founding member of the WePROTECT Global Alliance International Advisory Board, a Commissioner for the Centre for Social Justice’s investigation into Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA) and has served as an expert advisor to UNICEF and participated as a speaker in a debate in the Cambridge Union.

Susie is a Clore Leadership Fellow. She was a finalist for a European Woman of Achievement Award; PA Magazine’s Best Boss of 2014; Executive of the Year 2017 in the ISPA Awards and a finalist in the European CEO Awards 2018. Susie is also a finalist in the Inspiring Women Awards UK 2024. 

Susie was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2016 for ‘Services to Child Online Safety’.
