JT has joined the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to help further safeguard and protect its customers worldwide.
JT joined 116 other IWF Members this February, in the drive to help eliminate child sexual abuse imagery from the internet. Through use of the IWF services JT will be able to further protect its customers and decrease the chances of vulnerable groups accessing child sexual abuse content.
Dave Newbold, Chief Operations and Technology Officer for JT said: ‘We are very pleased to become active members of the Internet Watch Foundation and play our part in helping ensure children can be safe on-line. At a local level we have for some time attended and actively contributed to the existing e-safety committee strategy sessions, which are designed to provide support in this important area to parents, teachers and children so joining the IWF helps strengthen this commitment further. Alongside this, we also offer comprehensive and practical advice to our customers on technical solutions available to help them stay in control; such as enabling their internet routers to block certain sites, or setting up parental controls, as well as general advice on which routers to buy that will provide in-built controls for parents. Furthermore, our engineers continue to explore current technological solutions which might allow us to be even more pro-active in the future. In the meantime we will continue our educational initiatives and as members of the IWF strive towards making the internet a safe environment for everyone.’
