The latest company to join Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) membership is Opendium Ltd.

Based in England and Wales, the web filtering company supplies schools with quality systems that aim to protect students from inappropriate and illegal content on the internet. Their products allow schools to filter and audit internet connections and identify any concerning online behaviour in the classroom.

As a Member of the IWF, Opendium Ltd will now use IWF’s Keywords, URL and Hash List. This way, Opendium Ltd will strengthen its software and assure the best protection for their customers while supporting IWF’s work keeping children safe in education.

Stephen Hill, Technical Director of Opendium Ltd, said: “As a leading provider of online safety systems to schools across the UK, we felt it was important to become members of the IWF. We are looking forward to working in partnership with the IWF over the coming years and are delighted to support their ongoing work to protect children.”

Susie Hargreaves OBE, IWF CEO, said: “I’m happy that more and more companies in the educational sector are working with us. E-safety in schools is a priority, and I’m pleased we can work with Opendium Ltd to strengthen and develop quality software that prevents children and students from stumbling across illegal content.”

What we do:

We make the internet a safer place. We help victims of child sexual abuse worldwide by identifying and removing online images and videos of their abuse. We search for child sexual abuse images and videos and offer a place for the public to report them anonymously. We then have them removed. We’re a not for profit organisation and are supported by the global internet industry and the European Commission.

The IWF is part of the UK Safer Internet Centre, working with Childnet International and the South West Grid for Learning to promote the safe and responsible use of technology.
