The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is delighted to celebrate a decade of partnership with NetSupport, a UK-based provider of technology solutions for schools and organisations globally. Through working with the IWF since 2016, NetSupport has shown unwavering commitment to protecting children and tackling online harm.
A core element of this partnership is NetSupport’s integration of the IWF’s specialist Keyword List into its monitoring tools. This enables schools and organisations to identify language linked to grooming and child sexual abuse when it appears in typed, copied or viewed content across applications. Each match is analysed and graded using NetSupport’s contextual intelligence risk index, helping staff prioritise genuine safeguarding concerns without being overwhelmed by unnecessary alerts.
NetSupport continually refreshes its keyword libraries in collaboration with charities, safeguarding specialists and local communities. This ensures its technology remains accurate and responsive to emerging threats, reflecting the company’s dedication to child protection and its determination to provide effective tools for safeguarding young people online.
Al Kingsley, CEO of NetSupport, said: “The IWF are an integral part of helping us keep young people safe online, and we are so proud to be celebrating our 10th year of membership with them. Their research and search databases are truly lifesaving, and we are honoured to support their mission as they continue to protect children and remove harmful content from the internet.”
Kerry Smith, Internet Watch Foundation CEO, said: “The IWF is delighted to have had NetSupport as a partner since 2016. Since then, improvements in technology and accessibility have only served to heighten the threats faced by children online, which is why our collaboration with tech companies – including the sharing of our Keyword List – is such an essential part of helping to protect survivors, safeguard children and ensuring the internet is a safer space for all. We look forward to another decade of effective collaboration with NetSupport.”
The collaboration strengthens proactive safeguarding measures, helping to protect children from exploitation in an ever-changing online environment.
