Donuts Inc. is IWF’s newest Member

Published:  Thu 8 Dec 2016

The American Internet Domain Name Registry Donuts Inc. has joined IWF Membership.

The latest company to join Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) Membership is Donuts Inc.

Founded in 2010, Donuts is an Internet domain name registry that administers hundreds of the newest and most creative online naming options available today. Donuts is leading the largest and most extensive expansion of Internet name space in history, and offers modern and relevant domain names to individuals, businesses and industries.

As a Member of the IWF, Donuts is now using IWF’s Domain Alerts Service. Domain Alerts are notifications that we send to domain registry companies if we find child sexual abuse imagery on domains registered through them. This way, Donuts will help us stop the upload, hosting, and sharing of child sexual abuse content on their extensive network of domains.

Jonathon Nevett, Co-Founder and Executive VP of Donut Inc., said: “Donuts has no higher priority than the safe operation of its domains.  Abusive imagery has no place in our registry, and we’re pleased to collaborate with IWF and put this helpful tool to use.”

Susie Hargreaves OBE, IWF CEO, said: “I’m glad to welcome Donuts Inc. to our growing international Membership base. Partnering up with domain registry companies is crucial to our work and our shared goal of keeping the internet safe and free of child sexual abuse imagery. I’m looking forward to working with the Donuts Team!”

What we do:

We make the internet a safer place. We help victims of child sexual abuse worldwide by identifying and removing online images and videos of their abuse. We search for child sexual abuse images and videos and offer a place for the public to report them anonymously. We then have them removed. We’re a not for profit organisation and are supported by the global internet industry and the European Commission.

The IWF is part of the UK Safer Internet Centre, working with Childnet International and the South West Grid for Learning to promote the safe and responsible use of technology.
