Children playing in the sun

Who we work with

We work with the global internet industry, governments and law enforcement agencies to fight child sexual abuse imagery and videos online. We’re supported by our internet industry Members and the European Commission. Together, we work to remove illegal images of children, wherever they’re hosted in the world. Our partnerships make a real difference.

You - the public

We work continuously to increase public awareness of our reporting function so that you know what to do if you accidentally see these types of images.

Our Members

We are a global membership organisation and offer unique services to the internet industry in order to help them make their services safer for their customers and prevent misuse of their systems.

Our International Reporting Partners

Many countries don’t have a dedicated hotline to take reports on online child sexual abuse images and videos. To help these countries, we offer a Reporting Solution so these countries can offer a reporting facility to their citizens without setting up a dedicated hotline.

Law enforcement

In order to effectively remove child sexual abuse material from the internet, we work with the police globally to support their efforts to bring offenders to justice.

Our INHOPE membership

We work with other hotlines around the world through our INHOPE membership.

Our international collaboration

As there are no geographical borders on the internet we work internationally with a range of organisations to eliminate child sexual abuse images and videos online.

Our political engagement

To help raise awareness of our reporting function and our services to industry, we encourage local and national government, as well as international partners, to embrace and promote the mission of the IWF.

The IWF Champions initiative aims to harness further political support for our work.

How we work with other charities

We work with many other charities across the world to make the internet safer for everyone and to stop the distribution of child sexual abuse images.

We use the term child sexual abuse to reflect the gravity of the images and videos we deal with. Child pornography, child porn and kiddie porn are not acceptable descriptions. A child cannot consent to their own abuse.
