Fred joined the IWF in December 2004 as a Technical Researcher and was promoted to Technical Coordinator in 2006. He is now responsible for all the Internet Watch Foundation’s technical requirements and members companies’ technical enquiries as well as being the EU Safer Internet plus Programme project coordinator for the organisation.
 
Since working at the IWF, Fred has been involved in a number of projects including the blocking initiative, Home Office funded projects, upgrading the Hotline report management system and managing the process by which the IWF became ISO27001 accredited in September 2007.  He also gained Prince2 Practitioner (Project Management) status in April 2007 and continues to present to technical forums on the work, processes and success of the IWF.
 
Fred graduated with an HND and Bsc (Hons) in Musical Instrument Technology from London Metropolitan University.
 
Previously Fred has worked for the Ministry of Defence, at Tier 1 internet service providers and other organisations in a technical and consultancy capacity.
