Internet Watch Foundation announces four new Board members
The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), the self-regulatory, industry-funded body that combats child sexual abuse content on the internet, is delighted to announce the appointment of Sir Rodney Brooke, Ms Naomi Cohen, Mr Stephen Locke and Dr Suzy Walton to its Board.
They will join the independent Chair, Amanda Jordan OBE, and the existing industry and non-industry Board Directors and Trustees to complete the IWF’s non-executive Board which helps drive forward the strategic focus of the IWF’s fight against potentially illegal online content.

Sir Rodney Brooke is Chairman of the General Social Care Council and was previously a non-executive director at Westminster Primary Care Trust and Chief Executive of the City of Westminster. Amongst many other roles, Sir Rodney is a member of the Council of the Centre for Regulated Industries, an Honorary Fellow at the Institute of Public Policy at Birmingham University and has been Chairman of the National Electricity Consumers Council. He was made a Commander of the British Empire 1996 and was knighted in 2007.
Naomi Cohen was formerly Head of Strategic Communications at the British Standards Institution. She has 20 years of professional corporate communications, PR and media experience. Naomi has served on several national and regional boards, including non-executive director of the North West Tourist Board. She helped found Jewish Community Action and Jewish Women's Aid.
Since 2003, Stephen Locke has been a specialist consultant and adviser on consumer policy and regulation. His current roles include being a board member of ICSTIS, the National Consumer Council, the Independent Mobile Classification Body and the Payments Council. His past full-time posts included working as Director of Research and Policy at Which? and regulating television advertising as Director of Advertising and Sponsorship at the Independent Television Commission.
Suzy Walton, chartered scientist and chartered occupational psychologist, has been a Senior Civil Servant working in central government for over a decade. From 2000-2003 she led strategic futures work in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and has served in the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit. From 1996-2000 she was a military psychologist in the Ministry of Defence. Suzy works as a non executive director for several public interest organisations and the University of Westminster. Her earlier career was as a producer, editor and presenter for Sky News, LBC Radio and the BBC. She has four children from 2 to 18 years.
