IWF Chair Roger Darlington comments: "David has built up the IWF from scratch and his hard work and professionalism over five years has created a respected organisation making a very effective contribution to the removal of child pornography on the Internet".
Peter Robbins has been appointed Chief Executive Designate and will take over leadership of the IWF on 1 April 2002. He has had an impressive career in the senior ranks of the Metropolitan Police and holds the Queen's Police Medal for distinguished police service.
His service includes two years as a member of the Central Obscene Publications Branch and, for the last three years, he has been Borough Commander of the London Borough of Hackney responsible for 860 police and civilian staff. He holds a BSc Honours degree from the Open University and a Diploma in Management Services from Middlesex University.
IWF Chair Roger Darlington comments: "Peter brings to the IWF strong management skills and enormous multi-agency experience. He will be a great asset to the organisation".
