Naomi Cohen
Naomi was appointed as a non-industry Board member in January 2008.Naomi is a communications and marketing consultant working for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), with over 20 years experience in senior roles across the voluntary, public and private sectors. Naomi has been a founder, trustee and committee member of several charities and is currently on the Board of Leeds University Union, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), a fellow of the RSA and a Trustee of the Internet Watch Foundation.
Before joining DWP, Naomi was a consultant with The Norton Group working for the Charities Aid Foundation. Previously she was Head of Strategic Communications for the British Standards Institution, Director of Communications and Marketing at the English Tourism Council where she led the response to the foot and mouth crisis, and Deputy Chief Executive at the TEC National Council during the transition to the Learning and Skills Council, Small Business Service and Connexions.
Naomi studied for an MBA and a first degree in psychology and began her career with various roles in the voluntary sector covering human rights, mental health and environmental issues.
