Emma Ascroft
Emma Ascroft joined Yahoo! in 2005 as Director of Public & Social Policy, with responsibility for all UK public policy matters and self-regulation, including social policy (particularly child protection) for Europe. Emma was educated at Edinburgh University and College of Europe, Bruges. She started her career in the European Parliament before becoming a public policy consultant in Brussels.
On moving to London in 2000, Emma led UK internet policy strategy at Cable & Wireless and then joined Ofcom, initially in industry relations, and later in the Strategy and Market Developments group working on a range of policy issues including consumer strategy, international spectrum strategy and the UK Presidency of the EU. Emma is currently a member of ISPA Council and an active member of the UKCCIS Industry Group.
